Jill Griffin, RN, MSN

Jill GriffinJill is a native of the Birmingham, Alabama area. She is a registered nurse with over 28 years of nursing experience. A 1993 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a bachelor of science in nursing and a 2004 graduate of the University of Alabama with a master of science in nursing.

Her experience includes providing medical care for pediatric medical-surgical patients at The Children's Health Systems of Alabama. Her responsibilities included bedside nursing, quality improvement, staff training, unit preceptor, and charge nurse. She also has experience in development of a community-based health improvement and disease prevention program at the Florida Department of Health. Upon her return to Birmingham, Al she broaden her nursing experience at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to include medical research overseeing 100 clinical research centers based in the US, Canada, UK, and Sweden. During her career in research, she had multiple job responsibilities including program administration, budget development, regulatory reporting, data management, data collection, form development, electronic data entry system development, protocol/manual development, site training and site support. Jill is co-author of several medical research articles. She has worked as a living donor coordinator, where her job responsibilities include management and oversight of a group of living donors from the point of screening for donor candidacy to follow up of the donor’s medical health two years following donation.

She currently works as a research nurse manager in the Department of Pediatrics Coordinating Center where she is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and reporting of critical research for children with infectious diseases.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends at the beach. She also enjoys volunteering with her church and in the community. She is married to Michael, and they have two children, Kayla, Jordan and a fur baby, Shadow.
